12:00-6:00 - Outdoor bowling challenge - This is your opportunity to support DSAW and enjoy a one-of-a-kind bowling experience! We have created an outdoor bowling lane with a 21-pin set up, and for $10, you can bowl three frames on the lane. We will track scores throughout the whole day, and the top three scores will each win a prize! (The pics in this post are the bowling lane as we were building it, stop in to see the finished lane and try it out!)

Last week's sweeper introduced a brand new to the summer sweeper series and that is the PBA bat pattern! This pattern is only 37 ft in length, giving the competitors a different look than in weeks past. It challenged the bowlers to control their angles early and also as they migrated into the middle of the pattern later in the tournament.
The competition to make the top 18 this week was close as the cut to make it through was 523, showcasing the difficulty of the pattern. The cuts to make the top nine and top four were extraordinarily close as well as we had our very first one ball roll-off to make the top four! Kelly Whipple and Alex Peglow each struck on their first ball, but Kelly's eight count on her second shot edged out Alex's seven count on his second shot in order to claim that last spot!
Our top four bowlers this week were Kevin Degner, Tanner Ausec, Kelly Whipple, and Jeff Anderson! Strikes were tough to come by all night long on this pattern. However, Jeff and Tanner put together enough strikes to make it close at the end with Jeff bowling the only scratch game over 200, 200 and that proved to be enough for the title this week, congrats Jeff! Tanner took second place, Kevin was third, and Kelly claimed fourth place.
Our season-long race towards the $1,000 grand prize is way too close to call and is anyone's game to win!

Last week's sweeper was contested on the 2024 Storm Military team tournament pattern, and the season long standings were sure to get a shake up with the first ever double points night! Bowlers earn points each week based on their performance, and those points were doubled this week as we enter the home stretch of the series and the chase for that $1000 prize!
On a pattern that was 41-feet with 30 mLs of volume, it took 609 to get into the cut for the top-18 this week! After a few eliminations, we were left with a final-4 of Scott Mcdougal, Jamie Schoberg, Sam Irizarry, and Payton Nabak! The final was an absolute slugfest, as the bowlers were pouring in the strikes seeing who would be the first to blink. In the end, Sam came out on top after putting together a very nice 256 scratch game! Payton took 2nd, Jamie was 3rd, and Scott rounded out the top 4.
Our season-long standings were shaken up a bit with double points night!
1st place - 23 points - Dennis Schoberg 2nd place - 22 points - Sam Irizarry 3rd place - 20 points - Amanda Ziegeweid 4th place - 19 points - Mike Hungelmann 5th place - 18 points - Scott McDougal
